Agang South Africa (AgangSA) urges all South Africans to follow the inquiry into state capture closely because this will reveal how not only the Gupta family, their business associates and Zuma are corrupt, but a lot of leaders within the ruling party could be implicated. This judicial commission of inquiry into state capture is likely to be disturbing as South Africans will be exposed to the full extent of corruption.
We hope for the end goal of this probe to actually be criminal prosecution, which is very unlikely. It could be another way of getting rid of evidence and as the inquiry will expectedly drag on, the alleged perpetrators will continue living lavish lives spending money looted from the state purse. .
This is another expensive inquiry that has cost South Africa at least R100bn. We expect deputy chief justice Raymond Zondo’s probe to uncover and reveal evidence we haven’t already heard about. It is up to us to ensure that these thieves are held accountable.
